Young Driver: The minimum age required for the driver is 21 years with a valid driving license for at least one year and another valid identity document. If you are between the ages of 21 and 24, an additional supplement of €15.00 per day will be applied at the desk.

IN THE EVENT OF EXTENSION OF THE CONTRACT THAN AS AGREED

The rental starts from the actual pick-up time of the vehicle; therefore, the rented car must be returned within the same time frame. An hourly tolerance of 59 minutes is permitted, beyond which half a day's rental will be charged for a delay within 12 hours and a new rental day if the delay exceeds 12 hours, at the rental cost updated to the date of the extension, inclusive of the same package. Not included: airport and railway charges of 16% for rentals starting at the airport or station, ancillary services and supplements. In case of early return, compared to the date indicated in the booking, the unused days will not be refunded.

The Terms and Conditions shown are an integration of those provided for in the Rental Agreement signed by the Customer, to which reference is made in full.

Minimum age and required documents: 

21 years old, driving license valid for at least one year, tax code (residents in Italy) and another valid identity document (identity card and/or passport). For an age between 21 and 24, an additional supplement (Young Driver) of € 15.00 per day for a maximum of 15 days will be applied. 

In compliance with the provisions of article 135 of the Highway Code and without prejudice to the provisions of international conventions, the Customer with a driving license issued by a non-EU country, in order to rent, must exhibit, together with his current driving license validity, the international driving permit or sworn translation of the same, carried out by the Embassy or Consulate. The international driving license is valid for the period expressed on it.

If the customer does not have an international driving license or sworn translation, the rental will be refused and the reservation will not be honoured.

It should be noted that the driving licenses of non-EU citizens who have been resident in Italy for more than a year, even if accompanied by an unexpired international licence, are no longer valid.

Methods of payment and security deposit: The Customer is required to pay a security deposit which he will release through the authorization requested on his financial credit card issued in the customer's country of residence, which must be presented to time of delivery of the car. The amount of the deposit will be equal to the following amounts which will vary according to the car group rented and the type of product chosen:

Payment by cash, debit cards, debit cards, Visa Electron, prepaid cards, DINERS CLUB credit cards is not permitted.

TERRITORIAL LIMITS

The customer is not allowed to travel abroad and in any case the cars MEREU RENT cannot be returned abroad.

In the event of transit abroad, it is the customer's responsibility to know and comply with the regulations relating to the circulation of the vehicle in the country in which he is driving.

It should be noted that in the event of vehicle breakdown abroad, it is specified that such conduct will be considered negligent conduct on the part of the rental agreement holder.

DELIVERY AND RETURN OF THE VEHICLE:

A rental day is made up of 24 hours. The rental begins on the day and time of delivery of the vehicle and ends on the day and time of return of the vehicle to  MEREU RENT. The vehicle is delivered in perfect condition and must be returned in the same condition in which it was delivered (except for normal wear and tear). If the vehicle requires a particular cleaning and/or sanitizing treatment due to the conditions in which the customer has returned the car, MEREU RENT will proceed to charge the extra wash documenting and communicating the charge in advance.

EXTENSIONS:

The extension of the rental is allowed, subject to authorization by MEREU RENT, by making a request at least 24 hours before the date established for the return. In case of extension of the rental without prior authorization, the extra days will be invoiced with the highest Standard daily rate published in the current price lists.

HOURLY TOLERANCE:

The Customer is required to notify the rental center of any delay in picking up the vehicle, otherwise a tolerance of 1 hour will apply with respect to the departure time scheduled in the reservation; once this tolerance has been exceeded, the reservation will be considered accepted without any notice. For the return of all vehicles, a tolerance of 59 minutes from the time of collection of the vehicle is applied, beyond which half a day's rental will be charged for a delay within 12 hours and a new rental day if the delay exceeds 12 hours, at the rental cost updated to the date of the extension, inclusive of the same package.

CIVIL LIABILITY TOWARDS THIRD PARTIES RCA: 

Vehicle insurance MEREU RENT includes civil liability towards third parties (RCA), as required by the law in force in the country where the car is registered.

SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE RATE**: 

The rates MEREU RENT are made up of the basic services that take into account the use of the vehicle (time/km) and the reduction of liability for damages and theft of the rented vehicle as described below (BASIC PACKAGE, MEDIUM PACKAGE and PREMIUM PACKAGE), in addition to roadside assistance for mechanical breakdowns not attributable to the customer's fault.

COLLISION DAMAGES – EXCESS ED DAMAGES: In all rates MEREU RENT the service is included EXCESS DAMAGE. The service is not an insurance coverage, but a conventional reduction of the Customer's liability for damages found on the car during the rental, including those from traffic, i.e. damages to the rented vehicle resulting from accidents. The conventional reduction of liability takes place within the limits of a maximum amount chargeable per event which varies according to the vehicle group rented as a penalty:

*The EXCESS DAMAGE service does not include damage caused to: glass, roof, underbody, wheels , interiors and vandalism.

THEFT AND FIRE – EXCESS THEFT (EF): In all rates < strong>MEREU RENT the service is included EXCESS DAMAGE. The EF service is not insurance coverage, but a conventional reduction of the Client's liability in the event of total and/or partial theft or fire within the limits of a maximum amount payable by the Client to MEREU RENT which varies according to the vehicle group rented as a penalty:

MEREU RENT recommends its customers to park the rented vehicle in guarded parking areas.

OPTIONAL SERVICE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RATE: The customer can reduce or cancel his economic liability for damages caused in the event of an accident to the rented vehicle or for theft, with the purchase of the optional service MEDIUM PACKAGES and PREMIUM PACKAGES.

MEDIUM PACKAGE: It is not an insurance coverage. If requested and signed at the time of rental, it reduces the security deposit and the amount owed by the customer in the event of damage, total theft, partial theft or fire. The MEDIUM PACKAGE service has a daily cost of:

PREMIUM PACKAGE: It is not an insurance coverage. If requested and signed at the time of rental, it eliminates the amount owed by the customer in the event of damage, total theft, partial theft or fire. The PREMIUM PACKAGE service has a daily cost of:

• EURO 25.00 per day

IN THE EVENT OF THEFT IN CALABRIA, CAMPANIA, PUGLIA IN THE CITY OF CATANIA AND THE PROVINCE: The MEDIUM PACKAGE and PREMIUM PACKAGE services are not fully applicable in the event of total/partial theft or fire of the vehicle occurred in Calabria, Campania, in Puglia, in the city of Catania and  province, in such circumstances the customer will not be able to make use of the abatement, but will be economically responsible within the limits of the amounts indicated below by way of penalty:

IMPORTANT NOTICE

**The MEDIUM PACKAGE and MEDIUM PACKAGE SERVICES do not operate if the driver's behavior is not diligent pursuant to art. 1176 Civil Code and in any case the driver cannot avail himself of any limitation of liability in the event of negligence, willful misconduct or gross negligence pursuant to art. 1229 Civil Code In these cases, the Customer is fully responsible for reimbursement of the cost of the vehicle after exchanging documents between the parties regarding the event.

BASIC ROAD ASSISTANCE:

In the event of vehicle breakdown, the customer is required to contact the Roadside Assistance service. For any replacement of the vehicle, which can be assessed according to vehicle availability and the opening hours of the centres MEREU RENT, the customer must subsequently reach the rental centre < em>MEREU RENT closer. If the breakdown and/or the intervention of the roadside assistance is not attributable to the customer's fault, the expenses incurred (travel, hotel, etc.) to reach the rental center or to continue the journey independently will be refundable for a maximum amount of ;Euro 200.00 upon presentation of the relative receipts, without prejudice to the provisions of art. 1223 of the civil code regarding the damages that are an immediate and direct consequence of the failure. For any other type of occurrence, the refund and/or compensation can never exceed the total value of the rental, except as provided by art. 1223 of the civil code regarding damages that are an immediate and direct consequence of what occurred. Furthermore, if the intervention of the roadside assistance or the mechanical breakdown is attributable to the fault of the customer, the latter will be required to reimburse MEREU RENT the cost for the roadside assistance.

INCIDENTS, DAMAGES, ACCIDENTS: 

The Client is obliged to give MEREU RENT communication of any road accident or damage in writing within 24 hours of the event or upon return of the vehicle, using the CAI form that you will find among the documents supplied with the vehicle or the Claim Report Form, also having the checks carried out by the competent authorities. Failure to comply with this obligation causes serious economic damage to MEREU RENT; therefore, there is a charge as a penalty to be paid by the driver starting from Euro 500.00 (amount not subject to VAT) up to a maximum of Euro 2,000.00 (amount not subject to VAT)< /strong>. Any subscription to the MEDIUM PACKAGE or PREMIUM PACKAGE service does not exempt the customer from these communication obligations.

The Customer is obliged to return the vehicle, at the end of the rental, with a full tank of fuel and to have it registered by the MEREU RENT employee at the time of check- in. In the event of failure to refuel, the Customer will be charged for the Fuel Recovery Service cost consisting of a fixed amount and a lump sum.

In the event of specific commercial agreements that do not provide for this fixed amount, a flat-rate amount will always be due for the missing liters, calculated at a higher price than the market price.

The fuel price is the one published at the time of return of the vehicle with reference to the latest available update, i.e.:

The amounts relating to the Fuel Service are updated periodically.

It is the vehicle delivery and collection service at a place indicated by the Customer other than a rental Centre MEREU RENT: area within 50 km MAX €50. 

The collection of the car outside the office opening hours is permitted upon express request by the customer. At the time of booking, the customer may request to bring the car forward or postpone the collection of the car with respect to the opening/closing times of the office at the price of  euro 50.00

The minimum age required for the driver is 21, a driving license that has been valid for at least one year and another valid identity document. For those aged between 21 and 24, an additional supplement of €15.00 per day will be applied for a maximum of 15 days.

Euro 35.00 per rental.
Anti-abandonment devices are not available for children under the age of 4 (Art 172 paragraph 1bis of the Highway Code), therefore the customer can only request and collect the child seat if in possession of his own device, of which he will be totally responsible for its assembly, use and operation.

The legislation on the use of anti-abandonment devices applies only to drivers residing in Italy.

Euro 12.00 per day with a maximum charge for 8 rental days/month. The navigator must be picked up and delivered in the same rental centre. In the event of loss, damage or theft, the chargeable amount is Euro 200.00 even in the case of subscribing to the MEDIUM PACKAGE or PREMIUM PACKAGE Service. The Navigator can be booked, subject to availability.
